The other day I was shopping online at work, please don’t tell my boss:) I realized how difficult it can be to shop for friends and family. Most of the time I have to go to different sites to find the various items, this I don’t mind so much because I get to look at a lot of cool stuff, but then I need to compare prices (I like to think I am THE Queen of deals), AND THEN I have to try to remember which site I saw with the best selection and best price. I sat back for just a second and I realized I had TWELVE different tabs open to shopping sites, an excel spreadsheet with 20 rows of data collected, nothing purchased yet and what should have been a 15 minute fun break had turned into a 45 minute project. Now here’s the clincher, I still wanted to get my brother’s opinion on one item and friend’s opinion on another… UGH! Calgon TAKE ME AWAY!!
My friends and I used to share stories like the one above everyday. Those stories and a desire to make online shopping easy and fun is why Omnea was created. Omnea makes it easier to shop online and answer the question, “which one should I buy?” Consumers tag and save products to Omnea as they search and browse products on Omnea or from any other retail site(s). Saving products to Omnea makes it easy to compare features, find the best price, and get feedback and alternative suggestions from friends via social networking.
Omnea has been in development and beta testing for some time now and we are ready to take it to the next level.
